Is this only for households?
No. Businesses — especially those with high energy use such as manufacturers, warehouses and data centres — can earn considerably more from demand flexibility than households.
Does it affect my comfort?
Participation is entirely voluntary for each event. You choose whether to participate when an event is called. If you cannot reduce usage on a particular day you simply do not participate — there is no penalty.
